About the Author
Ronny Bruce is an OG ATLien (born in Atlanta, Georgia) who served in the US Marine Corps and US Army. He holds a degree from Kennesaw State University and taught high school social studies from 2004 - 2006, before his military reenlistment triggered the events in his memoir.
Ronny's debut story, The Grunts of Wrath, was named a 2024 Eric Hoffer Book Award Category Finalist.
I snapped this pic while on patrol from the formation’s rear. It was getting dark and time to peace out of the spooky area while the Muslim prayer music blasted through the village’s speakers. I kept looking over my shoulder because this enemy likes to let you split then attack from the back. Thus, the last man must keep his head on a swivel as if he’s the point man.
